I have been a postpartum doula for over six years in Calgary. During that time, I have been privileged to support hundreds of families from all walks of life.  I have come to this profession after 25 years as a military wife, living all over the world, so I know how important support is to a family. I have recently trained as a birth doula as well, and look forward to many new experiences.

I am certified through DONA (www.dona.org).  I am a past president of the Calgary Doula Association (www.calgarydoulas.ca) and am currently a member of their executive.  I am a Certified Lactation Educator, from the Simkin Centre for Allied Birth Vocations (Bastyr University).

I have two beautiful daughters - Kate is 25 and Claire is 21.

I deeply believe that consistent, non-judgmental support in the prenatal, birth and early postpartum days can make a huge difference in how a family copes with the transition to parenthood.  I believe that a new mother needs and deserves to be nurtured, both physically and emotionally. She needs someone to ensure that she gets adequate food and rest.  She also needs someone who can listen to her story, hear her fears and rejoice in her triumphs.

I consider it an honour to be allowed to be part of this incredible time in a family's life
